  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey for drizzling
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish, optional

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the brie on the prepared baking sheet and lightly score the top rind in a crisscross pattern.
  • In a small bowl, combine the fig jam, chopped walnuts, and red pepper flakes.
  • Spoon this spiced mixture evenly over the top of the brie.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the brie is soft and gooey and the rind is slightly golden.
  • Transfer to a serving platter, drizzle with honey, and garnish with rosemary if desired.
  • Serve immediately with crackers, crostini, or apple slices.

Notes

For an extra touch, you can add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt or a few candied pecans to the top for added texture and flavor. This appetizer is best served warm to enjoy the gooey brie.
