  • 24 Large Shrimp fresh or frozen, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Black Pepper

For the Irresistible Spicy Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Sriracha or Gochujang
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce or Tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp Fresh Grated Ginger
  • 1 clove Minced Garlic

For the Crisp Lettuce Wraps & Accompaniments

  • 1 head Butter Lettuce or Boston lettuce, Romaine Hearts, Iceberg Lettuce
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1/2 cup Diced Cucumber
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Pat the shrimp dry thoroughly with paper towels and toss them in a medium bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  • Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side until opaque pink and cooked through; avoid overcrowding by cooking in batches if necessary.
  • Remove the cooked shrimp from the pan and set aside.

Whisk Up the Spicy Sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine Sriracha (or Gochujang), soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey (or maple syrup), fresh grated ginger, and minced garlic.
  • Whisk until all ingredients are well combined and smooth, then taste and adjust for desired spice or sweetness.

Assemble Your Delicious Lettuce Wraps

  • Gently separate and wash the lettuce leaves, patting them completely dry; arrange the cleanest, cup-shaped leaves on a serving platter.
  • Place 3-4 cooked shrimp into the center of each lettuce cup and drizzle a generous amount of the prepared spicy sauce over them.
  • Top each wrap with shredded carrots, diced cucumber, and chopped green onions, then garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of Sriracha or use a sweet chili sauce instead. You can also add a squeeze of fresh lime juice to the sauce for an extra zing!
