  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12-16 taco shells hard or soft tortillas, your preference

  • 1 head lettuce shredded
  • 2 Roma tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the ground beef, breaking it up until no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and water, simmer for 5-7 minutes until liquid evaporates and meat is coated.
  • While meat simmers, shred lettuce, dice tomatoes, and prepare other desired toppings in separate bowls.
  • Warm taco shells or tortillas according to package directions, either in the oven, microwave, or a dry skillet.
  • Arrange warm shells, seasoned meat, and toppings for everyone to build their own tacos.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a squeeze of lime juice to the cooked beef. You can also customize your toppings with additional vegetables or spicy sauces. Great for meal prepping!
