Ingredients

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine all glaze ingredients in a small saucepan.
  • Whisk ingredients together until thoroughly combined.
  • Heat the saucepan over medium heat, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Cooking

  • Stir occasionally for 4-6 minutes, allowing the sugar to dissolve and the glaze to thicken slightly.
  • After 30-40 minutes of meatloaf baking, spread half of the glaze evenly over it.
  • Continue baking for 20-25 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  • Serve the remaining glaze alongside the meatloaf, or apply a thinner second coat during the last 10 minutes of baking for an extra sticky finish.

Notes

This glaze is incredibly versatile and can be used on various meats, not just meatloaf. Adjust the garlic powder to your taste for a more pronounced flavor.
