Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic minced

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sriracha optional, for a kick
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp cold water

  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Instructions

  • Pat the sirloin steak cubes dry with paper towels and season them lightly with salt and black pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak cubes for 2-3 minutes per side until browned, then remove and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add minced garlic to the skillet, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Whisk in soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sriracha (if using), and ginger powder, ensuring sugar dissolves.
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer, then slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry and continue whisking for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  • Return the seared steak to the skillet and toss gently to coat all pieces evenly with the sauce.
  • Continue cooking for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is cooked through and thoroughly coated.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the steak in a portion of the soy sauce and ginger powder for 15-20 minutes before searing. Adjust the amount of sriracha to your preference for more or less heat.
