Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Toothpicks

Ingredients

Truffle Base

  • 36 cookies Oreo cookies (one family size package)
  • 8 oz Cream cheese (softened)

Decoration

  • 12 oz White chocolate (melting wafers or chips)
  • Red food coloring gel (for veins)
  • Green/Blue/Brown M&Ms or edible candy eyes (for irises)

Instructions

Making the Truffles

  • Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by hand in a bag. Mix the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese until well combined, forming a dough.
  • Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze the balls for 15-20 minutes until firm.

Decorating the Eyeballs

  • Melt the white chocolate according to package instructions. Dip each firm Oreo truffle ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated, then return to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Before the chocolate sets, gently place an M&M or an edible candy eye in the center of each dipped truffle to create the iris.
  • Using a toothpick dipped in red food coloring gel, carefully draw "bloodshot" veins radiating from the iris to complete the ghoulish eyeball effect. Allow the chocolate to fully set at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

For an extra spooky effect, you can use different colored M&Ms for varying eye colors. Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing with the Oreo crumbs. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
