Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 1 pound fresh or frozen shrimp peeled, deveined, and finely chopped
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Pastry

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed
  • 1 large egg for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon water for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Thaw and pat dry the shrimp, then finely chop it.
  • In a bowl, combine shrimp, cream cheese, chives, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes; mix until smooth.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Assembly and Baking

  • Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface, spread shrimp filling evenly over half, leaving a small border.
  • Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling, press to seal, then cut into 1-inch strips.
  • Twist each strip and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
  • Whisk egg and water for an egg wash, brush it over the twists, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and puffed, then cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Ensure shrimp is finely chopped for a smooth filling. For extra spice, add more red pepper flakes.
