Ingredients
  

Pasta Salad

  • 1/2 cup cooked pasta e.g., rotini, orecchiette
  • 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 2 tbsp mozzarella balls mini
  • 1/4 cup diced cooked chicken or chickpeas
  • 1 tbsp pesto sauce

Vegetables

  • 1/4 cup cucumber slices cut into fun shapes
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper strips

Fruits

  • 1/4 cup green grapes
  • 1/4 cup orange mandarin segments

Snacks & Treat

  • 2 star-shaped cheese slices small
  • 3-4 pretzel twists
  • 1 dark chocolate or chocolate chips small square of dark chocolate or a handful of chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine cooked pasta, halved cherry tomatoes, mini mozzarella balls, diced chicken or chickpeas, and pesto sauce; stir to coat.
  • Place the pasta salad in the largest bento box compartment.
  • Arrange cucumber slices and red bell pepper strips in a separate compartment.
  • Add green grapes and orange mandarin segments to another compartment.
  • Place star-shaped cheese slices and pretzel twists in a smaller compartment.
  • Add dark chocolate or chocolate chips to the smallest compartment for a treat.

Storage

  • Securely close the bento box and refrigerate if packing the night before.
  • For school, place the bento box in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack to keep it cool.

Notes

Customize with your favorite vegetables and fruits. For a vegetarian option, ensure to only use chickpeas. This bento box is a great way to use up leftover cooked pasta and chicken.
