  • Sharp Knife

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-ounce)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest from about 1/2 orange
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, beat softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth.
  • Unroll the crescent dough onto the prepared baking sheet, pressing seams together to form a single rectangle.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border, then sprinkle with dried cranberries.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log from one of the long sides and slice into 1/2 to 1-inch thick rounds.
  • Place the slices cut-side up on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  • While bites cool, whisk powdered sugar and fresh orange juice to make a smooth glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm crescent bites and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture. If you don't have fresh orange juice, you can use milk for the glaze, but the orange juice adds a lovely zing.
