  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 0.5 cup white chocolate chips optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Mixing the Dough

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the dried cranberries and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

For best results, ensure your butter and eggs are at room temperature before you start mixing.
