Ingredients
  

Red Fruits

  • 1 cup strawberries hulled
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1/4 cup fresh cranberries optional, for garnish

Green Fruits

  • 1 cup green grapes
  • 2 kiwis peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup honeydew melon cubed

White/Neutral Fruits

  • 1 banana sliced, tossed in lemon juice
  • 1 pear sliced, tossed in lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup lychees peeled

Orange/Yellow Fruits

  • 3 mandarin oranges peeled and segmented
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 starfruit sliced
  • 1/2 cup mango cubes

Optional Dips/Garnishes

  • Fresh mint sprigs
  • rosemary sprigs
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash all fruits thoroughly, including those to be peeled, to prevent contamination.
  • Prepare each fruit: hull strawberries, leave raspberries whole, peel and slice kiwi, cut pineapple and melon into cubes, separate mandarin segments, slice starfruit, remove pomegranate arils, and slice banana and pear (tossed in lemon juice to prevent browning) just before arranging.

Arrangement

  • Select a large platter or board for arranging the fruit.
  • Begin arranging fruits with larger items as anchors, then fill in with smaller ones, playing with patterns, colors, and textures to create visual appeal and height.

Festive Touches

  • Intersperse fresh mint or rosemary sprigs and arrange cranberries for festive visual appeal.
  • Optionally, place a dip in the center and dust powdered sugar over some fruits for a snowy effect just before serving.

Notes

For best results, prepare and arrange the fruit close to serving time to ensure freshness and prevent browning. A variety of colors and textures will make your fruit tray visually appealing. Consider using cookie cutters for fun shapes with some of the firmer fruits like pineapple or melon.
