Equipment

  • large skillet
  • frying pan
  • paper towels

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 3-4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted, or olive oil
  • 1 large lemon juice plus extra wedges for serving
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • red pepper flakes Pinch (optional, for a little kick)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the peeled and deveined shrimp dry with paper towels.
  • Season the shrimp generously with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter or heat olive oil. Sauté minced garlic for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  • Add the seasoned shrimp to the pan in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Serving

  • Remove from heat, then stir in the fresh chopped parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, and serve immediately with extra lemon wedges.

Notes

Do not overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery quickly. This dish pairs well with pasta, rice, or a fresh green salad.
