Ingredients
  

Taco Meat

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup water

  • 12 taco shells
  • Shredded lettuce for serving
  • Diced tomatoes for serving
  • Shredded cheese for serving
  • Sour cream or plain Greek yogurt for serving
  • Salsa for serving
  • Guacamole or diced avocado for serving
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped for serving

Instructions
 

Cooking the Beef

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add ground beef and onion (if using) to the skillet, breaking it up and cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Seasoning and Assembly

  • Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
  • Warm taco shells according to package directions while the beef simmers. Fill the warm shells with seasoned beef and your desired toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast your taco shells slightly in a dry skillet before filling. Feel free to experiment with different toppings like pickled jalapeƱos or hot sauce for an added kick.
