  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups vegetable broth

  • Melt butter in a large skillet, sauté diced onion and celery for 5-7 minutes until soft. Stir in sage, thyme, pepper, and salt, cooking for one more minute.
  • Remove skillet from heat, add toasted bread, cooked vegetables, and broth, then stir gently until coated. Transfer to an 8x8 inch baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and heated through.

Notes

Ensure bread is stale for best texture. Don't overmix the stuffing to prevent it from becoming dense.
