  • Small bowl
  • Whisk
  • Paper towels
  • Pastry brush (optional)

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets skin on or off
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional Garnish

  • fresh parsley or dill, chopped for serving
  • lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to create the glaze.
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Brush about half of the maple Dijon glaze evenly over each salmon fillet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily; brush with remaining glaze during the last 5 minutes if desired.

Serving

  • Remove the salmon from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley or dill if desired, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

For thicker fillets, you may need to increase baking time slightly. To check for doneness, gently flake the thickest part of the salmon with a fork; it should be opaque throughout.
