  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 cups (170g) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust

Optional Toppings

  • sliced pickles, chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, ketchup, or mustard for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a large skillet for cooking.
  • Cook the ground beef and chopped onion in the skillet until browned, then drain any excess grease thoroughly.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, mayonnaise, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then stir in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese.

Assembly

  • Add the drained ground beef and onion mixture to the cheese mixture, ensuring it's well combined.
  • Pour the entire mixture evenly into the unbaked pie crust.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

Baking & Serving

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly and heated through.
  • Let the pie stand for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving to allow the filling to set.

Notes

Serve with your favorite cheeseburger toppings like pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, or mustard for a complete meal. This pie is also great for meal prepping!
