  • Knife
  • Medium bowl
  • Paper towels

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes firm and unblemished
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado/coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika smoked or sweet

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly, scrubbing well, and pat them dry; peeling is optional and depends on preferred texture.
  • Cut the sweet potatoes into uniform 1/2-inch cubes, sticks, or wedges to ensure even cooking.

Seasoning & Cooking

  • In a medium bowl, combine the chopped sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings, then toss to coat thoroughly.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375-400°F (190-200°C) for 3-5 minutes, if desired.
  • Arrange the seasoned sweet potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry at 375-400°F (190-200°C) for 15-25 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and tender.
  • Remove the crispy sweet potatoes from the air fryer and serve hot immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the sweet potato pieces are completely dry before seasoning. Adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer model and the size of your sweet potato pieces. Use parchment paper or an air fryer liner for easier cleanup, if desired.
