Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 all-beef hot dog Vienna Beef recommended
  • 1 poppy seed bun

Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish bright green
  • 1 tablespoon chopped white onion finely diced
  • 2 tomato wedges or slices half-moon
  • 1 dill pickle spear
  • 2-3 sport peppers
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt

Preparation

  • Cook the all-beef hot dog by steaming or simmering in water for 5-7 minutes until heated through; grilling or boiling are also acceptable.
  • Gently steam the poppy seed bun until soft and warm, but not soggy, using a steamer basket over boiling water for 30-60 seconds.

Assembly

  • Place the cooked hot dog into the steamed bun.
  • Apply a generous zigzag of yellow mustard directly on top of the hot dog.
  • Spoon bright green sweet pickle relish over the mustard.
  • Add finely chopped white onion over the relish.
  • Carefully place two tomato wedges or slices between the hot dog and the bun, typically on one side.
  • Nuzzle a dill pickle spear alongside the hot dog, opposite the tomatoes if possible.
  • Arrange two to three sport peppers on top of the hot dog.
  • Lightly sprinkle celery salt over the entire creation. Serve immediately.
